The story of this print.
THE YELLOW MCLAREN !

21 September 1986... The portuguese F1 GP is packed to see the race that gave the World Championship to Williams-Honda thanks to Mansell´s victory. But there´s more to come..

Marlboro had a new product to promote and wanted to create an impact.
With that in mind they changed the livery of one the McLaren´s from the famous RED to... a bright YELLOW. Something completely different from the usual Marlboro colours.
Rosberg´s car was the chosen one. The 1982 world champion was a famous smoker in the paddock, and was the right ambassador to promote this new product in Portugal.
The Marlboro Light.

With a poor performance where he only took 7th place in the qualification, where Senna took pole position in a Lotus-Renault, he abandoned with an electric problem...

A Light achievement in the 1986 Portuguese GP... a bit like his cigarettes.
Hope you like it as much as I loved doing it!
